This is a 10-day instructor led workshop on the 5 phases of Six Sigma methodology and its underlying tools (including Minitab), statistical techniques and templates. (4-day training session + 1-day consultation on specific projects to be delivered as part of the certification program).
At the end of this course, participants should be able to:
- Understand the 5 phases of Lean Six Sigma process improvement methodology
- Effectively prioritize business improvement projects
- Determine appropriate primary and secondary metrics in context with a project
- Apply the tools used in each phase
- Understand basic statistical concepts and needs, including an introduction to business statistics, the need for statistics & analytical approach, role of statistics in problem solving & decision making
- Understand Statistical Inference, including an introduction to sampling distributions, populations and samples
- Understand the importance of Measurement Accuracy and Precision
- Understand the impact of variance on customer satisfaction, costs and performance
- Be able to lead a data-based decision making both in Six Sigma projects and everyday business
- Ability to apply the relevant Lean tools
- Ability to use Minitab software for Process stability & capability Analysis
- Perform Regression Analysis using Minitab
- Conduct One way and Two way Analysis of Variance using Minitab
- Basic concepts of Statistical Process Control, dominance patterns and the different type of control charts
- Build relevant Control Chart using Minitab
- Apply the Six Sigma philosophy and process to business improvement projects
- Manage the Six Sigma steps, tollgates and support structure
- Document projects from start to finish using a standardized storyboard
- Presentation of the projects pursued by the individual participants
